Today was fairly eventful, to say the least. Well, technically yesterday, since as I'm writing this it's past midnight, but whatever. As you can tell by the tittle- I got a tattoo today! I've been wanting this tattoo for ages, and today I finally just decided I was tired of waiting and got it!
The place I went to was super clean and professional, and it's only five minutes from my house, so it's conveniently placed. I went right after school and just walked in and was taken care of quickly. The whole thing only took 45 minutes- from walking in to walking out. They were playing Drake and Josh in the waiting room and there was art all over the walls. I told the artist what I was thinking of, picked out the font, got it fitted, then went and filled out some paperwork and paid, then bam- I was ready to go and was sat in the chair ready to get inked. My tattoo artist was super chill and kind and he made the whole thing super easy. Not going to lie, I was a bit freaked out about getting tattooed, since I'm not good with needles, but it wasn't too bad! It was more annoying that it was painful, and it stung more than it hurt. Overall, it was only like 20 minutes of being uncomfortable, and I don't even really remember the pain too much. Plus, the adrenaline kicks in, which makes the pain less, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance and it wasn't too bad- I'd definitely do it again.
As for what I got, here's the design:
I got the word "adventure" in a typewriter font, plus a few extra little ink blots, and I'm absolutely in love with it! I got it because I want to be a travel journalist, and I really enjoy travel and writing in general, so the typewriter font signifies writing and journalism, and the word adventure deals with travel and adventure. I am in love with this tattoo, and I'm so glad I got it!
